ASHLEY + BRIAN ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Chung and I headed out in what we’re hoping is the last heat wave of the summer here in NYC.

We had a two hour engagement session yesterday in the West Village. Although my Blackberry was telling me it was 94 degrees, it really wasn’t all that bad. We’ve definitely trudged through worse humidity this summer.

Anyways, we had a lot of fun walking around the West Village with Brian and Ashley – not too much foot or car traffic and I think we got some nice shots in.

One thing I don’t understand is when pedestrians and tourists take photos of the engaged couple on the streets. I mean… what do they use the photos for? Do they just tell their friends “Look, I saw a couple getting their photos taken today!” Are they practicing their own wedding photography chops with their point and shoots? I don’t get it. The last thing I would take a photo of is a couple I know nothing about in their wedding outfits. But that’s just me.

Our final stop on the engagement session was Milk & Cookies Bakery. Let’s just say I plan on going back there real soon. Maybe I’ll take a stroll over there during lunch…

JOANN + MICHAEL 08.28.2010

Saturday was a good day. We had three weddings lined up, and all three receptions were in Manhattan.

Chung and I shot Joann and Michael first in Astoria, where Joann got ready at her parents’ place while Michael got ready at his apartment. We then headed on over the the church, which was only a couple blocks away from both apartments.

Afterwards, we trekked into the city and spent a couple hours in the Washington Square Park neighborhood. There, we were able to get in some fantastic shots of the bridal party while enjoying the weather and the hustle and bustle of lower Manhattan.

The reception took place at the Manhattan Penthouse near Union Square, where Joann and Michael danced the night away.

All in all, it was a beautiful day for all those involved. Despite the full ten hour coverage, the day really flew on by.
