Welcome to CLY blog!
CLY Creation LLC was first established in Chelsea, NY 2003 by three young photographers.
All two founders graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA.
After moving to NYC, they found their passion in photography and opened CLY studio.
Each photographer's background started within fashion, still life and portrait photography.
Eventually expanded their field to wedding photography.
Since they opened their studio, they kept developing unique wedding photography style through their digital and graphic techniques.
CHUNG
Chung was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States 10 years ago. He currently lives in Edgewater, NJ.
After graduating with a degree in journalism in Korea, he worked as a first assistant for a well known fashion photographer for 2 years. Soon after, he took the plunge and moved to the U.S. in order to continue to pursue his passion in photography.
He was admitted and graduated from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago and also has a Masters Degree from The Brooks Institute of Photography.
Chung has not only been published by fashion magazines such as Vogue Korea and Esquire, but also wedding magazines such as The Brides and The Wedding Channel. His work has also been featured in art exhibits and galleries in New York and Seoul.
Chung's photographic style is based on a sophisticated artistic vision and is always challenging himself to to adopt and incorporate new ideas and techniques to nourish his passion.
His comfortable approach to documenting the wedding day with trendy and editorial flare make him and CLY Creation the subject of adoration among his clientele.
MATTHEW
Matthew was born in Seoul, Korea and spent most of his teenage years in Seattle, WA. After receiving a camera at the age of 16, he started to capture images of the people around him and when he found he could bring so much joy and so many smiles to people by capturing images on film, he knew there was no other way to live than as a photographer.
After graduating from The Art Institute of Seattle, he moved down to Santa Barbara, California to pursue photography in more depth by attending the renowned commercial photography school, The Brooks Institute of Photography. Upon relocating to NYC in 2002, he attended and received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from The Pratt Institute.
His acute visual sensibility of commercial photography balanced with a fine art perspective yields visually stunning images with a classic sophistication.
With winning images in Photo District News’ (industry trade magazine) national “Top Knots” wedding contest, his works have also graced the pages of Korean Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Bazaar, WWD, Ann Taylor Online, Brides, The Knot, Contemporary Bride, The New York Times and more.
JANELL
Studio Manager
JASON
Born and raised in New York, Jason H. Kim has nurtured two passions in his life since a very young age.
Originally with a background in creative writing, Jason currently pursues photography as his main outlet for his artistic vision. He sees a strong, symbiotic relationship between the two arts, and strives to reveal in both photography and writing, stories that provoke raw, visceral emotions.
His photojournalistic approach to events allows him to capture the very essence of the moment with a distinct point of view, much to the adoration of his clients.
Jason finds his inspiration from the energy of his clients as well as from the opportunity to witness and document his clients' momentous events and milestones.
